Anthony John Stanczyk, age 102 of Pendleton, NY, entered into rest peacefully on August 23, 2021 at his daughter's home, while under the loving care of his family and Niagara Hospice. Born in North Tonawanda, NY on April 5, 1919; son of the late Wojciech and Anna (Klimas) Stanczyk. Anthony served during World War II, in the United States Navy from 1940-1946. He fought in eight campaigns, received the Victory Medal, American Campaign, American Defense 1 Star, Asiatic Pacific, Good Conduct medal, and European African M E 1 star. Anthony as been a member of the Sikora Post American Legion for over fifty years, in North Tonawanda. He was employed at the Wurlitzer Company, and a former member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church in North Tonawanda. Anthony enjoyed woodworking, and made many items to decorate his children's homes, including wooden cars, doll furniture, clocks, picture frames, and cabinets.
Anthony was preceded in death by his wife, Adeline (Wachowicz) Stanczyk, on August 21, 1975; and all his brothers and sisters, Michael, John, Lottie, Andrew, Anna, Mary, Josephine, Rosie, and Francis; and a daughter, Mary Ann Domedion.
Survivors include five children, David (Carol) Stanczyk of Tonawanda, Patrick Stanczyk of North Tonawanda, Nancy (David) Mix of Fairport, Sandra (Edward) Gabrys of Lockport, Mark (Lorene) Stanczyk of Newburg, Indiana; son in law, Douglas Domedion of Medina; 13 grandchildren, Karen McGregor, Kevin (Halia) Stanczyk, Jeffrey (Emily) Domedion, Eric (Diana) Stanczyk, Jacob (Jeanne) Stanczyk, Damian (Jill) Mix, Matthew Mix, Nicole Mix, Joshua (Lindsay) Gabrys, Corey Zoerb, Carleen (Mel) Gabrys, Justin (Haley) Stanczyk, and Michael Stanczyk; 19 great-grandchildren, Bryan, Shane, Haley, Dominik, Aleksander, Lukas, Victoria, Ashley, Lillian, Sarah, Neil, Emma, Jacob, Cole, Daytona, Taylor, Caleb, Arya, and Robin; also nieces and nephews.
Interment at Acacia Park Cemetery.
