David Clyde Lockie, 66, of Fort Worth, passed away suddenly to be with his Lord on Thursday, January 21, 2021. He was born to Clyde Bender and Betty Gerlach Lockie on February 6, 1954 in Lockport, N.Y. David is survived by his parents of Keller, TX, his daughter Kayla Morton (husband Rance) of Dallas, older sister Carol Stout (husband Nolan) of Bedford, TX, his younger brother Paul Lockie (wife Joan) of Alamo, CA, two grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
David was raised in Lockport, N.Y. where he graduated high school in 1972. He enjoyed working on a family-friend’s farm in Barker, N.Y. and playing sports. He moved to Texas in the late 1970’s where he spent the rest of his life in Odessa and Forth Worth. Dave worked at Federal Express and had previously worked as a teacher and construction worker.
Dave was a long-time worshipper at The Hills Church, North Richland Hills (TX) Campus, participated in a weekly bible study with a close-knit group of men and was a co-founder of Love Acts, a group dedicated to supporting the homeless community in East Fort Worth. He also enjoyed watching sports and was a fan of the Miami Dolphins and LA Dodgers, although he seemed to yield a bit later in life to enjoy the hometown Buffalo Bills under friendly pressure from old friends and family.
